Pyfer's bout with Kelvin Gastelum has been cancelled due to the former coming down with an illness, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Pyfer was looking to make it two straight wins after disposing of Marc-Andre Barriault back in June, but he'll have to wait a little longer to try to build another winning streak. Rather than try to find a replacement fighter for Pyfer, the bout has been cancelled altogether.

Fighting Gastelum in March

Pyfer will fight Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Mexico on March 29, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
A win over Marc-Andre Barriault in June put Pyfer back in the win column after his three-fight win streak was snapped by Jack Hermansson in February. Now looking to build another streak, Pyfer will have five inches of height and 3.5 inches of reach working in his favor against Gastelum, who has lost six of his last nine fights.

Pyfer defeated Marc-Andre Barriault via KO (punch) at 1:25 of Round 1 at UFC 303 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Pyfer suffered his first UFC defeat his last time out, fading late in a five-round main event loss to a tough opponent in Jack Hermansson. He made sure no such thing would happen here. Pyfer, who is truly massive for middleweight, pinned Barriault up along the fence early on and turned his lights out in an instant. This finish would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Still just 27 years of age, Pyfer's inexperience against high-level competition is a concern, but his physical gifts are not in doubt. Don't give up on "Bodybagz" just yet.

Pyfer will face off against Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 303 on June 29, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Pyfer will get back in the ring against Barriault in June following his most recent defeat against Jack Hermansson in February. The 27-year-old American fighter, who is 3-1 in his short UFC career, will look to get back on track against Barriault.

Pyfer lost to Jack Hermansson via unanimous decision (47-48, 47-48, 47-48) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Pyfer isn't a kid at age 27, but he has just 14 professional fights under his belt, including only four in the UFC, so hopefully he learns from this result. Entering as a -260 favorite, Joe did whatever he wanted for the first six or seven minutes. He blasted Hermansson with power shots and continued to stalk forward and hunt his prey. The final three rounds were a totally different story. Pyfer, who had never fought five rounds before, didn't appear to be tiring at all, but Jack figured out what was coming his way and turned the tables completely. With the fight in the balance and a few minutes left, Pyfer gave up a takedown and was never able to get back to his feet. The talk is going to be how Joe was up two rounds and blew it, but the truth of the matter is that for much of this fight he looked darn good against a legitimate top-ten opponent and by far the best guy he has faced to date. There's plenty to work with here. It's now up to Pyfer and his team to make the necessary adjustments.

Pyfer is scheduled to fight Jack Hermansson in a middleweight bout at the UFC's Feb. 10 event in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
For his next fight, Pyfer will challenge the No. 10 middleweight in the UFC. Despite his lack of recent fights, Hermansson is still a respectable 6-4 in the UFC, making him a tough matchup for Pyfer.
