Falls to 1-3 in past four fights
BantamweightUFC
November 2, 2024
Shore lost to Youssef Zalal via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 0:59 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Edmonton.
ANALYSIS
Shore was plenty competitive in Round 1 before it all fell apart. He landed a pair of takedowns in the opening frame and made Zalal work. Then Round 2 began and he ate a flying knee up the middle which knocked him into oblivion. Zalal followed Shore to the mat and immediately clamped on the arm-triangle which closed the show. Undefeated over the course of his first 16 professional fights, the roof has caved in on Shore in the past two-plus years. He's just 1-3 dating back to July 2022, with all three of those defeats coming via stoppage.

Will face Youssef Zalal
BantamweightUFC
October 9, 2024
Shore will take on Youssef Zalal at UFC Edmonton on Nov. 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Shore is coming off a disappointing defeat to Joanderson Brito in May in his most recent fight, and he'll aim to bounce back before the year ends. Despite being part of the UFC roster since 2018, Shore has gone 6-2 with the company, but he's struggled badly every time he's faced a top opponent, and that might be the case against Zalal as well.
Overwhelmed by Joanderson Brito
BantamweightUFC
May 4, 2024
Shore lost to Joanderson Brito via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 3:35 of Round 2 at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Making his second appearance at 145 pounds, Shore found out that facing Brito is not the same as facing Makwan Amirkhani, his opponent in his first featherweight bout. Brito is bigger, stronger and faster, and he also throws damaging leg kicks, which Shore was unable to defend or avoid. His leg was a bloody mess when all was said and done, and one particularly damaging blow at the end of Round 3 forced referee Joao Claudio Soares to call the doctor in. After a brief examination, that was all she wrote. A member of the UFC roster since September 2018, Shore has fought just eight times during that stretch, going 6-2. The record is fine, but Shore has zero history of defeating better competition, and now 29 years of age, is not getting any younger.
Next bout scheduled

February 9, 2024
Shore is set to match up against Joanderson Brito at UFC 301 on May 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Shore, who won his most recent fight against Makwan Amirkhani in March, will square off against Joanderson Brito who has been on a roll. The 29-year-old fighter, who is 6-1 during his time with the UFC, will look to knock off the streaky fighter.
Strong showing in 145-pound debut
BantamweightUFC
March 18, 2023
Shore defeated Makwan Amirkhani via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:27 of Round 2 at UFC 286 on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
It was Shore's return to featherweight after spending each of his first six UFC bouts competing at bantamweight. It didn't start well. He was forced to the mat by Amirkhani early on and spent near the entirety of the opening frame plastered to the ground. Yet, it was Amirkhani that was tired out from all the grappling, and Shore took full advantage. He pounded his opponent on the feet early in Round 2 before choking him out at the end of the stanza. Having just turned 28 years of age in early February, Shore still retains a very high ceiling and should be considerably more effective with the extra ten pounds on his frame.

Shore (knee) will take on Makwan Amirkhani at UFC 286 in London on March 18, USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Shore will make his return to the Octagon in a couple months after suffering a knee injury last fall which kept him out of a scheduled fight against Kyler Phillips. Shore won his first five fights under the UFC banner, but lost the last time he fought in July against Ricky Simon.
