Remains perfect in UFC
Prates defeated Charlie Radtke via KO (knee) at 4:47 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
ANALYSIS
It's a second straight knockout win for Prates to begin his UFC run. Like his debut fight against Trevin Giles this past February, there wasn't a whole lot going on here until the finish. Late in Round 1, Prates stepped in and crushed Radtke with a knee straight to the liver. The latter went down like he was hit by a sniper, and it was clear as day the bout was immediately over. It would be nice to see Prates fight with a bit more urgency for the duration of his fights, but it's impossible to argue with the results thus far. He'll also walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.

Up against Radtke
Prates is scheduled to compete against Charlie Radtke in a welterweight fight at UFC Vegas 93 on June 8, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Prates began his 2024 on a high note by knocking out Trevin Giles. He will look to use the positive momentum to build a winning streak against another welterweight already on his own run, which includes wins over Blood Diamond and Gilbert Urbina.

Mounts comeback in UFC debut
Prates defeated Trevin Giles via KO (punch) at 4:03 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Making his UFC debut after picking up a knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series last August, Prates looked pretty lousy against a mediocre opponent prior to the finish. He was less than a minute away from being down two rounds to Giles, at which point one straight left hand cracked Trevin in the jaw and closed the show in an instant. It would also go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. It's nice to see Prates possesses this type of fight-ending power, but he's going to have to perform better for the duration of the bout his next time out.

Booked against Giles for debut
Prates will fight Trevin Giles at a UFC event scheduled for Feb. 10, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Prates earned a UFC contract after defeating Mitch Ramirez in the Contender Series in August, and he'll debut versus an opponent who has lost three of his last five bouts. Prates will have a four-inch reach advantage in his favor as well as an unblemished professional record since June 2019.

Earns contract with dominant win
Prates defeated Mitch Ramirez via KO/TKO (straight left) at 1:14 of Round 2 of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of three fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
With 24 professional MMA bouts under his belt, Prates is considerably more experienced than most fighters on the Contender Series. The Brazilian fighter put that experience to good use in this one, using his crisp boxing and heavy body kicks to stun his opponent on multiple occasions. The end finally came when Prates landed a left hand behind a kick that left Ramirez dazed and looking at the lights. Perhaps most notable in Prates' game is the ability to defend himself on the ground, as he hit a nice sweep on Ramirez when taken down in the first frame. Taken altogether, Prates seems to have the skills to make his mark in the welterweight division.
