Chinakhov drew into 62 games with the Blue Jackets as a rookie in 2021-22, picking up seven goals, 14 points and an ugly minus-27 rating while averaging 12:30 of ice time per contest. The 2020 first-round pick's production should improve in 2022-23, as he's expected to see regular usage in Columbus' top six and on the team's second power-play unit, but counting on anything more than double-digit goals and 30-35 points from Chinakhov would be unwise.
