Emberson still has room to grow, and it looks like he'll get that chance with the Oilers. At 25 years old, there's still gains he can make on offense. That will be tough from a third-pairing role, though he could move up to the second pairing if he plays well. 2024 Fantasy Outlook
Emberson was in training camp with the Rangers last season. He had a strong showing in preseason but was waived due to the numbers game. He was claimed by the Sharks and showed extremely well in a 30-game sample with his new club, posting a goal, 10 points, and a perfectly reasonable minus-4 rating while playing for the worst team in the NHL. Emberson missed the final six weeks of the season with a lower-body ailment, but he's expected to be fully healthy for training camp following an offseason trade that saw him head north to Edmonton in a swap for Cody Ceci.
