2025 Fantasy Outlook
Appearing in 70 regular-season games in 2024-25, Pinto set career highs in goals (21), points (37), blocked shots (56) and hits (73). While those numbers are encouraging, the two-way center's points per 60 minutes dropped from 2.18 two seasons ago to 1.81 this past campaign -- that can partly be attributed to the Senators having a more balanced attack. The Long Island native notched just two points with the man advantage, and his power-play time per game dropped significantly from 2:24 in 2023-24 to 1:07 in 2024-25. He also scored on 16.5 percent of his shots last season, an increase from his career average of 12.4. With a diminished power-play role and Tim Stutzle and Dylan Cozens ahead of him on the depth chart, Pinto may be hard-pressed to reach the 40-point mark for the first time, but he's still a good late-round target for his depth contributions. Lights lamp twice in loss
Pinto scored two goals in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
He was the only Senator who was able to solve Sergei Bobrovsky, although both goals were somewhat fluky -- Bobrovsky got caught out of position after misplaying the puck behind the net late in the first period, and Pinto's third-period tally came on a centering attempt that deflected in off Aaron Ekblad. Nonetheless, Pinto's now tied an Ottawa franchise record with five points in the first two games of the season, including four goals -- an impressive haul for the 24-year-old, who set new career highs with 21 goals and 37 points over 70 regular-season games in 2024-25.

Pinto served a 41-game suspension for activities related to sports wagering, which delayed the start of the 2023-24 campaign for him until Jan. 21. Despite missing the first half of the season, though, he was solid after that, supplying nine goals and 27 points through 41 outings. With that incident behind him, the 23-year-old (24 on Nov. 12) seems primed for a strong campaign. The only major downside is that the presence of Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris might result in Pinto being deployed primarily as the third-line center and on the second power-play unit, which would limit his offensive opportunities somewhat. Still, it would not be shocking to see Pinto record 50-60 points, which would be a major jump from his previous career high of 35.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Set to cash in
Pinto is expected to receive at least $7 million AAV on his next deal, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Pinto is entering the final year of a two-year, $7.50 million deal he signed with the Sens back in July of 2024, so this next contract would mark a significant uptick in pay for the center. After racking up 21 goals and 16 helpers in 70 regular-season games last year, another 20-plus goal campaign by the New York native could drastically increase the salary demands for Pinto's camp in the offseason.
