Sabourin is a big, physical forward, but his gritty play hasn’t been enough to land him a regular fourth-line role at the NHL level. The 33-year-old has two goals, eight points and 58 PIM across 47 career regular-season appearances in the top league. Meanwhile, he’s spent huge chunks of time in the AHL sin bin, recording 480 PIM across 178 regular-season outings over the past three years. Sabourin was given a four-game suspension for roughing Florida's Aaron Ekblad during a preseason game Oct. 4, and he hasn't served that punishment yet. Assuming Sabourin stays with Tampa Bay, he'll be eligible to play Oct. 26 versus Vegas. The 33-year-old Sabourin can't serve his suspension unless he's on the NHL roster, so any time he gets demoted without completing his punishment pauses the process. NHL suspensions don't make players ineligible for minor-league duty, though, and Sabourin has a goal and an assist in two appearances with Syracuse in 2025-26.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Sabourin appeared in 35 games with the Senators last year, recording six points, 74 hits and 33 PIM. Now signed to a much deeper Maple Leafs organization on a minor-league contract, it's very unlikely the 28-year-old winger will see much, if any, time with the parent club in 2020-21. Sabourin can be a big-bodied, fourth-liner in the NHL when given the chance, but it's not likely to come in 2020-21 with Wayne Simmonds set to serve the same purpose in Toronto. Look for Sabourin to spend nearly all of next season with AHL Toronto.
