Lafferty spent parts of two seasons with the Blackhawks from 2021-23, and after stints with three other teams, he is back with Chicago for the 2025-26 season. The 30-year-old is coming off a tough season with the Sabres, notching just four goals and three assists with a minus-15 rating in 60 games. He didn’t get much ice time when he played, averaging 9:53 per contest. The role he’ll play with Chicago figures to be similar, assuming he cracks the lineup on an everyday basis.
