2025 Fantasy Outlook
After a fantastic sophomore season at Boston College in which he scored 30 goals in 37 games, Leonard struggled after he signed his entry-level contract, notching just one goal and one assist in 17 games, including the postseason. He lacked the ice time to make a big impact, averaging just over 14 minutes in his nine regular-season games and even less in the postseason. With a full offseason of runway to prepare for the 2025-26 season, the 20-year-old figures to grab a prominent spot in the Capitals' lineup of deep forwards and on the second power-play unit. That should allow him to use his gifted goal-scoring instincts more effectively, and combined with his willingness to throw his body around -- he had 29 hits in his 17 games -- it gives him one of the highest fantasy ceilings of any rookie in the league.
