2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hintz's reliability and talent go a little underappreciated in Dallas, where the Stars' balanced approach to roster-building makes him one of an ensemble rather than a leading player. Still, he had 28 goals and 67 points over 76 games in 2024-25, and that was a bit of a down year, as he missed the 30-goal mark for the first time in four seasons and also fell short of 70 points for the second year in a row. The encouraging factor is his 17.5 shooting percentage, which is high compared to most players but is right in line with career norms for Hintz, who hasn't shot under 15 percent since his rookie year. A full year of Hintz alongside Mikko Rantanen is also enticing, as the two Finns flashed some chemistry in the playoffs and should benefit from a training camp together. Read Past Outlooks

Three-point effort in win
Hintz scored an empty-net goal on four shots, dished two assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
One of Hintz's helpers came on the power play. The 28-year-old has played a leading role in the Stars' early burst of offense in 2025-26, racking up five points (two on the power play) over the first three games of the season. He's playing on the top line as usual -- in that role in 2024-25, he posted 28 goals and 67 points in 76 regular-season outings, which is on the lower end of his typical production.

While Hintz maintained his top-line role in 2023-24, he wasn't quite as effective as usual. The 27-year-old posted 30 goals and 65 points over 80 regular-season contests, including 19 power-play points, but that meant he missed the 70-point mark for the first time in three years. Part of the dip in production was due to a better supporting cast -- Hintz's line had previously been relied on to carry the team's offense, but the signing of Matt Duchene and the emergence of Wyatt Johnston gave Dallas a balanced offense. Hintz is a critical factor in all situations, and while the team still has strong depth, it lost more than it gained this offseason, particularly with Joe Pavelski's retirement. Hintz always carries a high shooting percentage, so another 30-goal, 70-point campaign is a reasonable estimate for his production.

Makes trip for Game 3
Hintz, who is dealing with a lower-body injury, made the trip to Edmonton with the rest of the team ahead of Sunday's Game 3 against the Oilers, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
While traveling is not a confirmation that Hintz will be in the lineup, it's a good sign that the 28-year-old could at least try to give it a go Sunday, with the decision likely to come shortly before game time. He was slashed by Edmonton's Darnell Nurse during Game 2 and had to be helped off the ice. Hintz has five goals and six assists in 15 games this postseason.
