Rasmus Kupari

Kupari signed a two-year deal after being traded to the Jets this offseason in a move that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Kings. Kupari racked up 80 hits across 66 games while averaging 10:06 of ice time in a bottom-six role with LA last season. He also chipped in three goals and 15 points with a career-low shooting percentage of 5.7 percent. The 23-year-old forward should fill a similar role in Winnipeg with limited offensive upside, though a third straight season with double-digit points is a reasonable expectation.

The 20th overall pick in the 2018 draft, Kupari possesses game-breaking skating ability, combining great speed with plus acceleration and agility. He's also a dynamic stick-handler, making him an absolute terror on the break who can tie defenders into pretzels. The 19-year-old is more playmaker than sniper, but his vision and passing skills give him the ceiling of a top-line center who can create space for his linemates with his slick moves. He'll need to get stronger on the puck and improve his play in his own zone as he matures, but Kupari's work ethic should allow him to get there, and maybe quicker than anticipated.
