2025 Fantasy Outlook
Krebs puts up the kind of numbers you’d expect from an average bottom-six forward. He provides a blend of physicality and offense but isn’t top tier in either category. He had 10 goals, 28 points, 60 PIM, 80 shots and 136 hits across 81 appearances with Buffalo in 2024-25. Krebs showed flashes of greater offensive capabilities at the junior and minor-league levels, but the 24-year-old now has 296 career NHL games under his belt and hasn’t displayed that capacity in the top league, so it’d be overly optimistic to peg him for a big jump in 2025-26. That said, if you’re in a deep enough league where 25-35 points, 50-75 PIM and 125-150 hits appeals, then Krebs is a worthwhile grab. It helps that he’s missed just three games over the past two seasons, which makes him a safer bet than other forwards with the potential for similar totals. Read Past Outlooks
Tallies empty-net goal
Krebs scored an empty-net goal and recorded two shots on net in Monday's 4-2 win over St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
Krebs placed the bow on top of the Sabres' ninth consecutive win, as he found the back of the Blues' empty net to put Buffalo up by two goals. With the twine finder, he is up to three goals, 14 points, 45 shots on net, 92 hits and 22 blocks through 38 games this season. After dishing out 10 helpers but failing to find the back of the net himself across his first 34 games, the 24-year-old forward has three goals over his last four outings. His contributions offensively from the Sabres' top line have helped ease the goal-scoring burden on Tage Thompson's shoulders. Despite Krebs lack of a role on the power play, he still has fantastic streaming value in fantasy with six points and 16 hits over the team's last seven games.

The former No. 17 overall pick by Vegas in 2019, Krebs simply hasn't been able to find his offensive game over parts of four NHL seasons. He was a regular for the Sabres last year, appearing in 80 of the club's 82 regular-season games, but Krebs managed just four goals and 17 points during that span. A career-low 5.4 percent shooting percentage can explain part of the lack of production, but even in an ideal year, it's difficult to see Krebs finishing with more than 10-12 goals barring a significant change in his role. That seems highly unlikely at this point.

Poised to sign two-year extension
Krebs is expected to sign a two-year, $2.9 million contract extension with the Sabres, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Krebs failed to reach the 20-point threshold last year, the first time he has missed that mark in his three-year NHL career. The 23-year-old center could see an uptick in offensive productivity if he can force his way onto the No. 2 power-play unit but probably still shouldn't be counted on to produce significantly beyond the 20-30 point range.
