The 22-year-old rookie has six goals, 13 points (four on the power play), 46 shots on net, 57 hits, 31 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 45 outings this season. He's not a lock for power-play minutes, so his scoring numbers are likely to remain fairly low.

Laba was selected by the organization in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft and has finally made it to the main event. After wrapping up his collegiate career last year, the 22-year-old center had a cup of coffee in the AHL, logging 11 games for AHL Hartford in which he garnered three goals and two assists. Laba is far from a lock to spend the entire campaign in the NHL, but he clearly showed the organization enough to at least get a chance to prove himself at the NHL level.
