2025 Fantasy Outlook
Nesterenko wasn’t taken until the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, so the fact that he’s played in the NHL at all is nice to see. That said, the 23-year-old hasn’t made too much of a mark yet, recording six goals and eight points across 32 career appearances with Anaheim, including six points in 20 outings in 2024-25. He did record 46 hits last year, and that physical element is likely to serve him well because his best chance of cementing himself with the Ducks is as a member of their bottom six. If he does play regularly for Anaheim in 2025-26, then he could end up with about 20 points and over 150 hits. Just keep in mind that he could fall below that projection by spending significant chunks of the season either as a healthy scratch or in the minors. Read Past Outlooks
Four helpers in Boston
Nesterenko notched four assists while adding two shots on net, a blocked shot, a hit and a plus-4 rating in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Bruins.
ANALYSIS
It was a career-best performance for the 24-year-old, who came into Thursday's contest with just six goals and eight points in his prior 36 NHL games dating back to 2022-23 -- including goose eggs in his first four games this season. Nesterenko has flashed some offensive upside in college and the minors however, including 13 goals and 34 points in 50 games for AHL San Diego last season, so the outburst isn't a complete shock. If he sticks in Anaheim's middle six and sees consistent time with centers like Mikael Granlund (two goals and five points Thursday), Nesterenko could put together a surprisingly productive campaign.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Nesterenko contributed 13 goals and 34 points in 36 NCAA games with Boston College in 2022-23 and then got his first taste of the NHL with the Ducks, recording a goal on 23 shots through nine appearances while averaging 13:17 of ice time. Acquired by Anaheim from Minnesota on March 3 as part of the John Klingberg trade, Nesterenko is a two-way forward with plenty of playmaking potential. That said, while he is expected to compete for a roster spot out of training camp, Nesterenko still has plenty of room to grow and might begin the 2023-24 campaign in the minors to focus on his development.
