2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lucic didn't play in 2024-25, but he was able to secure a professional tryout agreement with St. Louis ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The hulking forward last appeared in the NHL two years ago, notching two assists across four regular-season games with the Bruins. The Blues have plenty of depth up front, so the 37-year-old will have an uphill battle to make the team out of training camp. Even if he does, Lucic would probably be a recurrent healthy scratch, which doesn't translate to the veteran being an option for fantasy managers. Read Past Outlooks

Having PTO extended
Lucic will rehab his lower-body injury in St. Louis, and the team will extend his professional tryout agreement in 10-day increments to determine whether he will receive a full contract, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Lucic hasn't played in the NHL since 2023-24, so he has an uphill battle to secure a roster spot on a deep Blues team. Even if he does, the 37-year-old forward will more than likely not provide much in the way of fantasy value.

Lucic left the Bruins following the 2014-15 season. He made stops in Los Angeles, Edmonton and Calgary, spending last year with the Flames and managing just seven goals and 19 points in 77 games. Lucic added 168 hits, but he doesn't produce enough offensively anymore to be a worthy fantasy consideration. The big man signed a one-year, $1 million deal to return to Boston on the first day of free agency. He'll add some toughness and respectability to the club's fourth line, but that's about all the 35-year-old offers at the latter stages of his career.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Not cut yet
Lucic, who is with the Blues on a professional tryout agreement, is still with the team despite being absent from Sunday's practice, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
St. Louis held Lucic off the ice after the 37-year-old forward tweaked something during Saturday's 4-0 preseason win over Chicago. Assuming he's healthy, he could earn a standard contract with the Blues before the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign.
