2025 Fantasy Outlook
During his rookie season in 2024-25, Michkov led the Flyers with 26 goals and finished second on the team with 63 points in 80 games. The only contests he missed were back-to-back healthy scratches in early November. His average ice time increased from 16:18 to 19:36 after Philadelphia fired head coach John Tortorella in late March. It was a much smaller sample size at the end of the campaign, but it could signal better deployment and more responsibilities in 2025-26. Michkov meshed nicely with Sean Couturier and Travis Konency down the stretch, compiling six goals and 16 points in his final 12 appearances. The 20-year-old Michkov has the offensive upside to top 30 goals and 70 points in his sophomore season. Read Past Outlooks

Secures rookie goals title
Michkov scored twice on seven shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.
ANALYSIS
Michkov's late burst of offense in the season finale secured the rookie goals title for him this season. He tallied 26 goals, one ahead of San Jose's Macklin Celebrini, and both first-year forwards finished 2024-25 at 63 points. They trailed Montreal blueliner Lane Hutson (66 points) in the overall scoring race. Michkov was as impressive as advertised, but one of those three skaters may not even end up as a Calder Trophy finalist if Calgary goalie Dustin Wolf gets nominated instead. In addition to his 63 points, Michkov racked up 200 shots on net and a minus-18 rating over 80 appearances.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
After missing the playoffs for four straight years, Flyers fans could use something to be excited about and Michkov qualifies. The No. 7 overall pick from the 2023 NHL Draft is set to play in his rookie campaign after scoring 19 goals and 41 points in 47 contests between KHL Sochi and St. Petersburg last season. The 19-year-old is brimming with offensive potential, and he should get a chance to showcase it as part of the Flyers' top six and possibly even as a member of the first power-play unit. He figures to be a serious contender for the Calder Trophy and consequently is someone that you don't want to overlook, even if you're just in a single-season fantasy league.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Caps off productive preseason
Michkov won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Devils and will finish the preseason with three goals and four assists over four appearances, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Michkov was selected by the Flyers with the No. 7 pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, and he was granted his release from SKA St. Petersburg in June. He'll likely slot in as a top-six forward for Philadelphia to begin the regular season and has plenty of scoring potential after tallying 19 goals and 41 points over 47 appearances with HC Sochi of the KHL last season.
