2024 Fantasy Outlook
Kessel joined the NHL squad when the calendar flipped to 2024 after a successful half-season with AHL Springfield. The 2020 fifth-round pick played nearly every game the rest of the way, recording seven points, 40 hits and 65 blocked shots across 39 games. While general manager Doug Armstrong stated this offseason that he feels comfortable with Kessel on the right side, the team also signed veteran Ryan Suter and Pierre-Olivier Joseph. Kessel will need to earn the job on the third pairing now, but his defensive acumen makes him a strong candidate for the role.
