Marat Khusnutdinov

Marat Khusnutdinov

22-Year-Old CenterC
Boston Bruins
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Khusnutdinov started the 2023-24 campaign in the KHL, but after recording six goals, 20 points and 45 PIM across 55 contests between St. Petersburg and Sochi, the Russian forward inked a two-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota in February. After joining the Wild, he recorded a goal, four points and six PIM in 16 contests while averaging 13:07 of ice time. The 22-year-old should start 2024-25 with the Wild, probably as their third-line center, but he might not be a regular on the power play. Although he has some offensive upside, Khusnutdinov doesn't have an especially high ceiling, and it would be best to regard him as a potentially solid role player instead of a high-end prospect. Snags helper Tuesday
CBoston Bruins
April 2, 2025
Khusnutdinov notched an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Capitals.
ANALYSIS
Khusnutdinov snapped a six-game point drought with the helper. The 22-year-old is maintaining a middle-six role for now, but his overall play since joining the Bruins has been more of the same from what he displayed with the Wild -- a little depth scoring and little else. He's at 10 points, 36 shots on net, 49 hits, 45 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 68 appearances this season.

Unlikely to join Providence
CBoston Bruins
April 15, 2025
Khusnutdinov is not expected to join AHL Providence for the Calder Cup Playoffs, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Khusnutdinov has logged 17 games with the Bruins this season since being acquired from Minnesota prior to the trade deadline. In those appearances, the 22-year-old blueliner notched two goals and two assists. Given his age, it's somewhat surprising the team isn't going to have him get minutes in the AHL postseason, leading to speculation that he might be playing through a minor injury.
