Domingue is set to spend another season as organizational depth, this time with the Flames after serving in that role for the Canucks and Devils last year. Domingue posted an .882 save percentage in 17 appearances at the NHL level last season, and it's unlikely he sees NHL ice in 2020-21 unless Jacob Markstrom or David Rittich fall to injury. Fantasy managers in deeper formats won't need to think twice about Domingue unless such an injury situation arises. He'll likely slot into a timeshare with Artyom Zagidulin at AHL Stockton for the upcoming season.
Domingue delivered a remarkable 21-5-0 record with a 2.86 GAA and .908 save percentage while helping the Bolts weather injuries to Vezina winner Andrei Vasilevksiy in 2018-19. So, how was he rewarded? Tampa delivered a belly blow to the career back-up when they signed Curtis McEhinney in the offseason. Sure, they'll say Domingue has a shot to earn time if he plays well in camp, but we all know the job is McElhinney's. Domingue will toil in the AHL in 2019-20 unless there is an injury at the NHL level, and even then, he'd need two injuries to earn starting time.
Domingue will be Andrei Vasilevskiy's backup for the next two seasons. He arrived from Arizona last season and took over as the team's No. 2 when Peter Budaj got hurt. Domingue showed so well in limited ice that the Bolts were forced to keep him with the big club when Budaj got healthy. The brawny puck plugger was 7-3-1 with a .914 save percentage after his arrival from the desert. He should be a 20-start goalie with solid individual stats in 2018-19. Daily leaguers should remember him for spot starts -- he plays behind the strongest team in the East but those in weekly formats need not apply.
Domingue took a big step backwards after showing promise as a Coyotes rookie in 2015-16. Working as the understudy to veteran Mike Smith -- who was ultimately traded to Calgary in the offseason -- Domingue posted a 11-15-1 record, 3.08 GAA and .908 save percentage without earning so much as a single shutout. The ‘Yotes figure to hand newcomer Antti Raanta -- arriving from the Rangers via an offseason trade -- the top spot on the goalie pecking order by Opening Night of the 2017-18 season. Barring a nearly flawless training camp, Domingue should serve as little more than a fantasy handcuff to the incoming Finn.
Domingue was pressed into duty with Mike Smith’s lower-body injury last year, registering a mediocre 15-18-5 record to the tune of a .912 save percentage and 2.75 GAA. That wasn’t enough to unseat Smith once he returned, but the 24-year-old proved he could contend in the big leagues, even with an unproven (and underperforming) defensive front. Now in his third season, it’ll be interesting to see whether the 2010 fifth-round pick can push for a starter’s role. Smith is aging, but he made a strong return last year and the Arizona blue line has been bolstered for this season. If the veteran is injured or ineffective, though, Domingue will get his shot and could mesh well with a youthful roster that’s looking to win now.
Domingue played most of last season with AHL Portland, posting a 2.68 GAA and .908 save percentage in 20 games. He would land with Arizona after Devan Dubnyk was dealt to the Wild, finishing with similar numbers (2.73 GAA, .911 save percentage) while playing behind one of the league's worst squads. After the Coyotes brought Anders Lindback in town to back up Mike Smith this season while offering Domingue nothing more than a two-way contract, Domingue opted to play in Europe for the coming season. The Coyotes retain his rights for the next four years.
Domingue posted a 2.61 GAA and .914 save percentage to go along with a 23-8-4 record last year with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL. The 20-year-old is nothing more than organizational depth at this point in his very young career.
Domingue, a fifth-round draft pick in 2010, played 57 games for the Quebec Ramparts of the QMJHL last season, posting a 2.65-GAA and 0.898 save percentage. At 19, Domingue has plenty of time to improve, but he won't be near any NHL rosters this season.

Domingue should get the home start versus Minnesota on Thursday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Both Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick are not at morning practice as Shesterkin has a lower-body injury while Quick is out with an upper-body injury. Therefore, Domingue is expected to get the start with minor-league callup Dylan Garand as his backup. Domingue last played in the NHL during the 2021-22 season, going 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .952 save percentage with the Penguins.
