Logan Stankoven

Logan Stankoven

21-Year-Old CenterC
Dallas Stars
2024 Fantasy Outlook
One of the best players in the AHL at the time of his recall, Stankoven joined the Dallas lineup in late February and never looked back. He had 14 points in 24 games before adding eight points in 19 playoff appearances. Shifty and supremely talented, Stankoven, a second-round pick of Dallas in 2021, is widely viewed as one of the better prospects in the league. He seems likely to play this upcoming season in a middle-six role for the Stars, giving him late-round fantasy value in all formats. His value in keeper and dynasty leagues is through the roof given his long-term upside. Read Past Outlooks

Nets goal Sunday
CDallas Stars
February 2, 2025
Stankoven scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
ANALYSIS
Stankoven ended an eight-game goal drought, during which he had one assist, when he scored in the second period. The 21-year-old was down on the fourth line following the return of Mason Marchment (face) and the Stars' trade to acquire Mikael Granlund, which has deepened the team's forward group. Stankoven should remain in the power-play mix, and it's possible he functions more as a middle-six forward, though he saw a team-low 12:04 of ice time Sunday. For the season, the rookie has seven goals, 25 points, 134 shots on net, 33 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 50 appearances.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Stars have had some success in integrating young players in recent years, and it could be Stankoven's turn in 2023-24. The 20-year-old played a huge role for his hometown Kamloops Blazers last year, posting 136 points over 66 contests between the regular season, WHL playoffs and Memorial Cup. While he's on the small side for a center, Stankoven could slot in as a middle-six winger if he's able to win a job in training camp this fall. He'll already be on reserve lists in most keeper and dynasty formats, but managers in redraft formats should keep an eye on his play during camp. Even if he needs some time in the AHL, he's not far from being an NHL option.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
NHL debut incoming
CDallas Stars
February 20, 2024
Stankoven will make his NHL debut sometime this week, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports.
ANALYSIS
Matt Duchene is dealing with a lower-body injury, and the Stars don't want to rush him back before he's 100 percent healthy, so Stankoven, the AHL's leading scorer with 24 goals and 57 points through 46 minor-league appearances, should draw into a top-six role when he makes his NHL debut this week. Dallas selected Stankoven with the 47th overall pick in the 2021 Draft.
