Forsberg is a 31-year-old, below-average NHL netminder who may have a new short-term lease on his NHL life now that a new regime has arrived in Ottawa. He'll have the protection of Vezina winner, Linus Ullmark, ahead of him and good health as he heads into camp. Best case Forsberg resurrects his career and channels some of the potential he flashed in 2021-22 when he delivered a .917 save percentage in 46 appearances. If so, he'll get up to 30 starts to prove he deserves an extension.
