2025 Fantasy Outlook
Studnicka didn't make the NHL in 2024-25, but he had 45 points in 72 regular-season games with AHL Ontario. He was on a two-way deal with the Kings last year, and he received a two-way contract from the Panthers in free agency. Studnicka probably won't see much NHL action in 2025-26 -- he's never played more than 48 games at the NHL level in any other season. However, he should be an option for a call-up if the Panthers decide they need a new look on their fourth line or if injuries pile up throughout the campaign. Read Past Outlooks

Lands on waivers Sunday

Given a fresh start after getting squeezed out of the Bruins' plans, Studnicka didn't do much with it in Vancouver. He totaled eight points in 48 games last season, with all but one of those appearances coming as a Canuck. The second-round pick from 2017 will likely need to prove himself in 2022-23, which may be hard to do since there's no guarantee he'll be in the lineup on a regular basis. Even if he can earn consistent playing time, he'll likely be limited to the bottom six, so there's little reason for fantasy managers to consider him on draft day.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Expected to hit free agency Monday
Per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now, Studnicka is not expected to get a qualifying offer from the Sharks, making him an unrestricted free agent Monday.
ANALYSIS
Studnicka played in 22 regular-season games between San Jose and Vancouver in 2023-24. He only managed to find the back of the net on one occasion and was unable to garner an assist. The 25-year-old will try to catch on elsewhere in the NHL, likely on a two-way contract.
