Solovyov appeared in five games with the Flames in 2024-25 after being promoted from AHL Calgary in February, but he finished out the year in the minors after being demoted in March. The Belarus native had a decent overall showing with the Wranglers, accounting for six goals, 28 points and a plus-8 rating over 59 regular-season outings. The left-shot blueliner was a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, so it’d be impressive if he can carve out a career in the world’s best hockey league, but he’s unlikely to ever be a major player in fantasy. With that situation unresolved, the Avs will keep Jack Ahcan on the roster ahead of Tuesday's season opener versus the Kings. Once eligible to play, Solovyov should at least challenge Sam Malinski or Josh Manson for a spot on the blue line.
