2025 Fantasy Outlook
Brisebois is an organizational depth defenseman. In the event of injury, he can be called up to fill in, but that doesn’t happen a lot. The 28-year-old has logged just 30 career NHL regular-season games, including three with Vancouver last year. When he is in the lineup, Brisebois doesn’t do much offensively -- he has three points across those 30 games -- but he has blocked a respectable 42 shots over those NHL appearances. Although his NHL resume is sparse, he has value to AHL Abbotsford, appearing in all 24 of the squad’s playoff games en route to winning the 2025 Calder Cup. Look for him to once again play regularly for Abbotsford after inking a one-year, two-way contract with Vancouver over the summer. Read Past Outlooks

Shifted to non-roster IR
Brisebois (lower body) was placed on non-roster, injured reserve Monday.
ANALYSIS
Considering Brisebois underwent surgery in late September, it shouldn't be a surprise to see him headed for the injured, non-roster list. The team hasn't provided a clear recovery timeline other than to say the 28-year-old blueliner is out indefinitely. At this point, it would be somewhat surprising to see Brisebois back in action before November. Once healthy, the defenseman will likely be waived for reassignment to AHL Abbotsford.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Brisebois got some playing time late in the 2022-23 campaign, picking up his first three NHL points in 17 appearances for the season. The 26-year-old was a third-round pick in 2015, but he's had a long road to maintaining a regular role in the NHL, and he may not be there yet, though the Canucks have plenty of reasons to give him a look given the shaky state of their blue line. He earned a two-year contract extension in March, though Brisebois is likely to be a moderately physical third-pairing defenseman entering 2023-24.
