2025 Fantasy Outlook
Giroux will remain in Ottawa for a fourth straight season after signing a one-year, $2 million contract with the club in June. The skilled veteran has had an illustrious career to this point, but his offensive output has steadily decreased in each of the last three years. However, the right-shot forward will certainly fill a top-six role and skate with one of the power-play units in 2025-26, and considering the Senators’ upward trajectory, Giroux should be able to provide mid-range fantasy value in 2025-26. The 37-year-old playmaker has missed only one game over the last three seasons, so his durability combined with Ottawa’s rising core will make him a valuable depth piece for fantasy squads this season. If Giroux can increase his shot and goal totals, a return to the 60-point mark is in the realm of possibility. Read Past Outlooks
Nets PP goal
Giroux scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Bruins.
ANALYSIS
Giroux opened the scoring for the Senators with a snap shot at the 1:28 mark of the first period, and he set up Tim Stutzle's empty-netter late in the final frame. Giroux has been putting up solid numbers despite his role on the third line, notching six points (two goals, four assists) in his last five outings while cracking the scoresheet in all but one of those contests. Given his role on the No. 1 power-play unit, it wouldn't be surprising if Giroux remains productive going forward.

Giroux is 36 years old, but he still looks right at home in a top-six capacity after providing 21 goals and 64 points across 82 contests last season. He also maintained his dominance on the draw, winning 58 percent of his faceoffs for a total of 668 victories -- he's posted a winning percentage of at least 58 in each campaign dating back to 2017-18. The last time Giroux finished in the top 10 in assists or points was back in 2018-19, and he's unlikely to rekindle that level of dominance at this stage of his career. Still, he likely has something left to offer and will be called upon to serve big minutes with the Senators in 2024-25. Under those circumstances, another campaign of about 20 goals and 60 points seems plausible, but even with the longevity and good health he's displayed, his age makes him a higher-risk option than other forwards who are penciled in to produce similar results.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Working on one-year deal
Giroux and the Senators continue to work toward a one-year contract, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
According to LeBrun, the negotiations between the two sides have been a grind, but talks remain ongoing. At this point, fantasy managers should probably anticipate Giroux sticking around next year. After generating just 15 goals this year, the veteran will undoubtedly be eager to get back over the 20-goal threshold for the seventh time in the last nine seasons, making him a decent top-half fantasy target.
