2025 Fantasy Outlook
The physicality and nastiness are what Dillon is known for, and that continued in 2024-25. In his first season with the Devils, he played all 82 regular-season games and finished with two goals, 16 points, 67 PIM, 191 hits and 108 blocked shots. The 34-year-old (35 on Nov. 13) is getting up there in age and needs to recover from a neck injury over the offseason, so it remains to be seen if he'll continue to be able to play the big, physical brand of hockey that is his calling card. If he can, he'll have appeal in leagues that place a high value on PIM and/or hits, but his offensive numbers are likely to remain modest. Read Past Outlooks
Held out of third period
Dillon didn't play during the third period of Monday's matchup with Columbus for precautionary reasons, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.
ANALYSIS
Dillon was injured following a fight with Blue Jackets' Dmitri Voronkov and did initially return to the game before being held out in the third. The 35-year-old Dillon has managed just one goal in his last 19 contests, but did chip in four helpers, 48 hits and 29 blocks. If Dillon suits up against the Stars on Wednesday, he could provide decent category coverage given his ancillary stats.

After spending the past three seasons with Winnipeg, Dillon signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Devils in July. He netted a career-high eight goals and supplied 20 points in 77 regular-season contests last campaign. Dillon led the Jets with 241 hits and tied for third on the team with 111 blocked shots. He will kill penalties and log plenty of minutes at even strength but won't contribute much offensively. Still, Dillon's arrival will provide some much-needed defensive depth for New Jersey, and he can pile up hits and blocks for potential fantasy managers.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected to join Devils' blue line
Dillon is closing in on a deal with New Jersey on Monday, Kevin Weekes of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Dillon would be the second major addition to the Devils' defense, with the club reportedly also finalizing a contract for Brett Pesce on Monday. In three seasons in Winnipeg, the 33-year-old Dillon was always able to reach the 20-point threshold but is a non-factor when it comes to power-play minutes. As such, Dillon is unlikely to offer much fantasy value, except perhaps in formats that utilize hits and blocked shots -- he has never finished a full season below 130 hits and has topped 100 blocks six times.
