Heading to New Jersey
Bordeleau (concussion) was traded to the Devils from the Sharks on Wednesday in exchange for Shane Bowers.
ANALYSIS
Bordeleau made just one NHL appearance for the Sharks during the 2024-25 regular season, and he missed the last two games of the year due to a concussion. It seems likely that he'll be ready for the start of training camp this fall, and he'll get a change of scenery after spending the last four seasons in San Jose. The 23-year-old will likely be forced to spend plenty of time in the minors next season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The Sharks refused to give Bordeleau a full-time role last season despite the fact they were the worst team in the league. He produced when given the chance, managing six goals and 11 points, including seven with the man advantage, in 27 games. With San Jose taking steps to be more competitive this coming year, Bordeleau is almost a lock to begin the upcoming campaign in the AHL. Still just 22 years old, he still has a decent amount of dynasty value, but it's starting to look like Bordeleau will need a change of scenery in order to reach his full potential.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Not close to promotion
The Sharks intend to let Bordeleau develop with AHL San Jose for the foreseeable future, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Bordeleau has 13 goals -- the most by any AHL rookie this season -- and 20 points through 29 games on the year. He tallied five assists in a short, eight-game stint with the Sharks last season but the team will let him and William Eklund continue to develop at a slow pace. If Bordeleau continues his success this season he could carve out a role at the top level to begin the 2023-24 campaign.
