Mahura drew into 64 games in 2024-25, earning nine assists, 58 shots on net, 89 hits, 54 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating. The 27-year-old defenseman will be in contention for a bottom-four role throughout 2025-26, but his limited scoring potential -- his career high is 16 points in 2022-23 -- gives him minimal fantasy value.

Mahura spent most of the 2023-24 campaign watching from the press box as a healthy scratch, logging just 30 regular-season contests for the Panthers last year. Additionally, the blueliner failed to get on the ice in a single postseason contest. Still, Mahura's name was engraved on the Stanley Cup after last year's title run - though the club did have to petition for it to appear. How much veteran pedigree he adds to the Kraken blue line is up for debate. Having said that, Mahura figures to provide cover for Seattle in the event Ryker Evans doesn't develop at the pace the club is hoping for, but Mahura may serve as a healthy scratch more often then he plays.
Mahura benefited from a move out of Anaheim and into Florida for 2022-23, racking up 16 points, 78 shots on goal, 101 hits, 70 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating over 82 games. Not bad for a preseason waiver claim. Repeating such an effort shouldn't be too hard for the 25-year-old blueliner in 2023-24, as injuries from the playoffs are likely to leave the Panthers' blue line banged up early in the year. Mahura doesn't have elite offense, but he can hold down a third-pairing role and challenge for the 20-point threshold while adding a touch of grit. There may be some value in that for fantasy managers in deep formats.
Mahura couldn't stick at the NHL level in 2019-20, despite posting four points in 11 games in a limited role. A third-round pick from 2016, Mahura also had 21 points in 44 games with AHL San Diego last year. A left-shot defenseman, Mahura may have trouble beating out Christian Djoos or Kodie Curran for a full-time NHL role in training camp ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. Mahura's shown solid offense when he gets a call-up, but he doesn't add much of an intimidating presence on defense. Expect the 22-year-old to be on the bubble of making the Ducks' roster, with a chance to prove himself in the minors if he can't stick around for Opening Night.
Mahura split time between AHL San Diego and the Ducks last season, racking up 19 points in 40 minor-league games while adding another five points in 17 appearances with the parent club. Anaheim will enter the upcoming campaign a bit on the thin side in terms of NHL-level defensemen, which should give the 21-year-old a chance to secure a roster spot out of training camp. If he can hold onto a full-time NHL role, Mahura could produce 15-to-20 points in 2019-20, but that won't be enough to make him relevant in most fantasy circles.

Mahura, who is dealing with a lower-body injury, could be activated from injured reserve as early as Saturday for the Panthers' matchup with the Islanders, George Richards of Florida Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Mahura has been out since Nov. 17, missing the last seven games while stuck on injured reserve. The 25-year-old tallied five assists in 16 games prior to the injury. Florida sent Uvis Balinskis down to AHL Charlotte on Friday, indicating that Mahura is likely returning soon.
