Hunt is not a particularly skilled forward, but he'll be an effective placeholder as the Flames head into a rebuilding year in 2024-25. He had eight points, 73 hits and 33 shots on goal over 28 appearances last season, playing mostly in a fourth-line role with the occasional turn alongside Jonathan Huberdeau in the top six. Hunt's career high in points is 17 from the 2021-22 campaign, and he is unlikely to see power-play ice time. The 28-year-old forward will add plenty of grit, but he could be one of the first players to be scratched whenever the Flames opt to give a prospect a chance at the NHL level.
