2025 Fantasy Outlook
Herbert and nine other players -- including Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Adrian Meronk -- were newcomers to the LIV Golf league in 2024, with Herbert joining the all-Australian Ripper GC just days before the first tournament in Mayakoba in February. Herbert finished T6 in three of the last six LIV Golf tournaments of the season (Houston, Greenbrier and Chicago), but he finished just outside the Lock Zone at 25th in the individual season standings. While Herbet was one of the best putters in the league in 2024, he was near the bottom of the field in both driving accuracy and GIR, two areas he’ll need to improve on in 2025. Herbert’s only major outing in 2024 was the PGA Championship (received a special invitation), and he managed to finish T43. He is not guaranteed to be in the field for any of the four majors in 2025. Cannot surge into Lock Zone
September 15, 2024
Herbert carded a two-under 68 in the final round at LIV Golf Chicago to finish the tournament five-under and a five-way tie for sixth.
ANALYSIS
Herbert entered Chicago 12.75 points behind HyFlyers' Brendan Steele for 24th in the LIV Golf individual season standings, which represents the final slot in the Lock Zone and a guaranteed spot in next year's league. Herbert made a late surge for that coveted spot on Championship Sunday, as he made three consecutive birdies from holes 16 to 18 in the final round with two holes to go. Had he finished even-par over the last two holes, he would've accrued enough points to finish ahead of Steele in the individual standings, but Herbert bogeyed the par-4 first hole and made par on the second hole, which knocked him out of the Lock Zone. Herbert will represent Ripper GC alongside Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and captain Cameron Smith at the LIV Golf Team Championship in Dallas next weekend, with the all-Australian foursome receiving a first-round bye as the third seed.

2022
Herbert finished out the season with five-straight made cuts. The Aussie has a chance to make some noise on Tour if he can string some low rounds together. Herbert possesses an excellent short game, so if he can hit it straight and far off the tee, he has a leg up on the competition around the pin.
Herbert wasn't much about consistency this past season as he made the cut in just half of his 20 starts, but an early season win at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship set him up for the entire year. After that win however, Herbert's results were less than ideal. Herbert posted only one top-10 during the entire 2022 portion of the season and he was generally a non-factor when making the cut. On a positive note, he did post a pair of T15s in two of his final three starts. Herbert is only 26, and this past season was his first on the PGA Tour, so he might have a fairly high ceiling. With that said, the bar was set pretty high, so a wait and see approach might be better this season.
Herbert already has two European Tour wins under his belt at just 25 years old, but he'll earn PGA Tour status for the first time this season after tying for fourth at the Albertsons Boise Open during the first leg of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. The Aussie currently paces the entire Euro Tour in putts per GIR while ranking second in average putts per round in 2021, though he's outside the top 100 in driving accuracy and GIR percentage.
