2025 Fantasy Outlook
Griffin was one of the best rookies in 2023, and although he failed to raise his game much in 2024, his season was far from a disappointment. Griffin's earnings number in each of his first two seasons was just under $3.5 million, but he got there by taking a different route each year. His rookie season was a bread sandwich season in that he played well early and late, but there really wasn't much to show in the middle. This is often a bit concerning as it means that the golfer is generally playing better against weaker fields. He corrected this a bit in year two, however, when he posted a runner-up smack dab in the middle of the season at the RBC Canadian Open. Griffin appears to be on the right track, but this could be a slow train to better things, meaning that he might never be a good salary cap option unless he has a setback one of these years. First individual PGA Tour victory
May 26, 2025
Griffin won the Charles Schwab Challenge by one stroke over Matti Schmid after shooting a one-over 71 in the final round.
ANALYSIS
It was a battle between Griffin and Schmid for most of the weekend at Colonial. Both players entered the final round tied for the lead. Griffin got off to a dream start with an eagle on the par-5 1st and a birdie at the par-4 2nd. Schmid was even on those first two holes and then made double-bogey on 5 and bogey on 6 to drop even further behind. Griffin looked to be in a spot where he could cruise, but he struggled coming in. He did not end up making another birdie the rest of the round and added four bogeys. Thankfully even after a birdie at 18 by Schmid, par on the final hole was good enough for Griffin to survive and claim his first individual PGA Tour title, after winning the Zurich Classic with Andrew Novak last month. Griffin soars to fifth in the FedExCup standings and will look to keep the momentum going at the Memorial Tournament.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Griffin had a very strong rookie season this past year, but he seemed to hit a wall when things picked up in March. That's not that unusual for rookies however as they generally play better in the fall that they do in the spring or summer. Griffin did post a top-15 at the Arnold Palmer, which was an elevated event, so he is capable of competing against the best, but he'll have to do more of that going forward if he's to take it to the next level. Griffin makes for an interesting salary cap selection this season as he has just one season under his belt, but considering how he played, we could see a jump this year.
A two-time All-American Scholar at UNC with a BA in economics, Griffin spent time working as a mortgage loan officer in 2021 before earning status on the Korn Ferry Tour, which he parlayed into official earnings of $262,549 through 22 events played during the 2022 season. Griffin tallied three second-place finishes en route to his eighth-place ranking in the KFT Regular Season Eligibility Points List, and he also ranked eighth in putting average. Griffin made an additional $357,700 with a fourth-place effort at the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship in early August where he played his final 36 holes in 12-under-par, though he missed five consecutive cuts to close out the KFT campaign.
