Younghoe Koo

31-Year-Old KickerK
New York Giants
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Koo made at least 86.5 percent of field-goal attempts in each of his first five seasons with the Falcons, before nosediving to 73.5 percent last year and then missing the final three weeks with a hip injury. He has two seasons remaining on his contract, but no guaranteed money, perhaps opening the door for competition. Koo will turn 31 in August, still prime age for a kicker, and his excellent track record before 2024 would make it easier to find a new home if the Falcons eventually move on. If he stays in Atlanta, he'll be kicking in a dome again, and potentially for a good team if QB Michael Penix turns out any good. Read Past Outlooks

Bumps up from practice squad
KNew York Giants
November 8, 2025
The Giants elevated Koo from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Once Graham Gano was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago, Koo was expected to fill in for him, but a transaction needed to be made to get him on the active roster. Koo thus will be making his first appearance since he missed a potential game-winning field goal Week 1 and promptly was jettisoned by the Falcons. For his career, Koo has connected on 181 of 211 FGAs (85.8 percent) in 93 regular-season games.

Koo is one of the best kickers in the NFL but typically hasn't gotten enough PAT volume to rank as one of the top fantasy options at this position. He's made at least 86.5 percent of his FG attempts each season since taking over as Atlanta's kicker midway through 2019, going 23-of-31 from 50-plus yards (74.2 percent) and 39-of-46 in the 40-to-49-yard range (84.8 percent). Kicking in a dome more than half the time helps, with the Falcons assured of at least nine indoor games each season between their home stadium and the annual visit to New Orleans. They're scheduled for 12 dome games in 2024, and with QB Kirk Cousins presumably improving the Atlanta offense, Koo should be one of the better kickers for fantasy.
Koo has converted more field goals (119) than PATs (111) through three and half seasons as Atlanta's kicker, establishing himself as one of the league's best (with some help from a dome) while being attached to subpar offenses. His work for the Falcons includes 20-for-25 from 50-plus and 31-for-39 from 40-49 yards, keeping him on the fantasy map even with the team relying on Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke at quarterback. Koo is good enough to rank among the top fantasy kickers if the Falcons offense is merely decent, which might be the case even with sketchy QB play now that rookie Bijan Robinson leads the rushing attack.
Koo parlayed a marvelous three-year stint with the Falcons into a five-year, $24.5 million extension this offseason, making him one of the highest paid kickers in the NFL. He doesn't figure to get many extra-point tries this year given the state of Atlanta's offense, but he’s trusted from long distance and plays his home games in a dome. That likely doesn’t lend to top-flight numbers, but it could keep him relevant.
Perhaps best known for his prowess on onside kicks, Koo has also been excellent at the main part of his job, leading all kickers in fantasy points since he took over in Atlanta midway through the 2019 season. He's converted 60 of 65 field-goal attempts in a Falcons uniform, including each of his nine tries from 50-plus yards. An NFC South schedule doesn't hurt, especially with the Falcons playing under a retractable roof.
Koo's name makes him a fan favorite, and his excellent work in eight games last season made him especially popular in Atlanta. In addition to leading kickers in per-game fantasy scoring, Koo gained added notoriety with back-to-back successful onside kicks (plus another wiped out by a penalty) on Thanksgiving. The Falcons could bring in competition, but Koo will be favored to win the gig.
Koo will have a chance to earn the starting job after incumbent Josh Lambo struggled mightily throughout the 2016 season. While the undrafted free agent may be known more for his trick shot videos than kicking acumen, his strong leg and reasonable accuracy could help topple the less-than-sturdy perch that Lambo currently sits a top.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could get Week 10 opportunity
KFree Agent
November 6, 2025
Giants coach Brain Daboll said Thursday that Koo would be the team's kicker against the Bears in Week 10 if Graham Gano's unable to play, Evan Barnes of Newsday Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Gano came in with a sore neck Monday and didn't practice Wednesday. If Gano can't go, Koo would be elevated from the practice squad prior to Sunday's game. The former Falcons kicker had a field-goal success rate of at least 86.5 percent every season from 2019 through 2023, but Koo dipped to 73.5 percent in 2024 and was cut after missing one of his three field-goal attempts in Atlanta's 2025 season opener.
