2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lutz has been even better in Denver than he was in New Orleans, converting 89.7 percent of field-goal attempts and 97.4 percent of PATs in two seasons for the Broncos. He finished eighth among kickers in fantasy scoring last season, up from t-20th in 2023, getting a huge boost in PAT volume once rookie QB Bo Nix started playing well. Nix's impressive rookie season under Lutz's long-time coach, Sean Payton, gives Denver the look of a stable situation for the foreseeable future. It could even be one of the top situations for kicker fantasy production if Nix takes a step forward and has the Broncos competing for more than just wild-card spots. Read Past Outlooks
Signs extension with Denver
Lutz and the Broncos agreed to a three-year contract extension Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lutz's previous contract was due to expire after this year, but he's now slated to remain with Denver through 2028. The veteran kicker has had a strong campaign, going 17-for-20 on field-goal tries -- including 3-of-5 from 50-plus yards -- while making all 24 of his PATs. Lutz also leads the NFL with four game-winning kicks and just won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after making all five of his field-goal attempts, including the game-winner, against Kansas City last Sunday.

Lutz followed Sean Payton to Denver last season after a six-year stint kicking for the Saints, moving from a friendly dome to the favorable thin air in Denver. Lutz made 30 of 34 field-goal attempts (88.2 percent) and 29 of 31 PATs (93.5 percent), boosting his career rates to 85.2 percent and 97.2 percent, respectively. He then re-signed on a two-year contract this offseason, but his reliable work doesn't seem especially promising for fantasy in light of Denver's shaky QB situation and overall lack of talent. Lutz does at least have job security, plus the favorable locale for long-distance tries.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might return to Denver
Lutz and the Broncos have mutual interest in a new contract, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran kicker won't get the franchise tag from the team, but a multi-year deal could be in the works. Lutz thrived at altitude in Denver last year after spending the first six seasons of his career kicking indoors in New Orleans, and his 88.2 percent conversion rate on field goal attempts in 2023 was his highest mark since 2019.
