Finds opportunity in Miami

October 3, 2024
The Dolphins signed Bowser off the Seahawks' practice squad Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Bowser appeared in two games for Seattle this season, after spending the previous six seasons as a regular part of the Ravens' linebacker corps. The 29-year-old will link up with Miami to provide reinforcement on the edge after the Dolphins recently lost Jaelan Phillips (knee) to a season-ending injury.

Bowser's torn Achilles in the season finale punctuated an injury-filled season for a Baltimore defense that limped across the finish line. Prior to the injury, Bowser reached a new level as a pass-rusher with a career-high 7.0 sacks in addition to logging a new career-high in tackles (59). He is on track to be ready for the start of training camp but an Achilles' injury can make it difficult to be at full effectiveness in the first year back, even if Bowser is on the field his usual amount. The Ravens acquired veteran Vince Biegel as depth insurance behind Bowser during the offseason but Bowser still projects to be the starter provided that he's fully healthy.
Bowser enters 2021 with a new contract following his breakout 2020 campaign where he played a career-high number of snaps and established himself as an asset in coverage, allowing a 50 percent catch rate at just 5.0 YPT. Bowser will be a fixture in Baltimore's base defense and sub-packages, though his role does not lead to a high volume of tackles for those eyeing him in IDP leagues.
The second-round pick out of Houston immediately fills a huge need on the edge with Elvis Dumervil's release at the end of the season. Bowser (6-3, 247) saw his stock soar at the combine after posting elite numbers in nearly every drill, and his production as a senior shows that he puts his athleticism to work on the field; he racked up 8.5 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss in just eight games as a senior at Houston. Assuming that fellow rookie pass rusher is deployed at the other outside linebacker spot, Bowser's only main competition for snaps will be Albert McClellan, who has just two career sacks in six NFL seasons. Bowser's primary value for IDP purposes will be as a pass rusher as he may not see much in the way of snaps in obvious run situations.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be back for camp
LBBaltimore Ravens
July 4, 2022
Bowser is making a quick recovery from his torn Achilles, and Ravens coach John Harbaugh believes he could be ready for training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The edge rusher was injured during Baltimore's final game of the regular season last year after recording a career-high seven sacks and 59 tackles. Bowser showed up for the Ravens' offseason workout program without a limp only three months removed from surgery, providing optimism that the linebacker could be ready to help the team's pass rush in Week 1. The fact the team hasn't added veteran reinforcements at his position also indicates the team is confident he'll be able to to contribute right away.
