ANALYSIS
The safety was elevated to the active roster for each of the last three games, playing on 66 percent, 63 percent and 18 percent of the defensive snaps, respectively. Abram saw heavy snap counts in place of Will Harris (hamstring) and then Tyrann Mathieu, who was nursing a forearm injury. Jordan Howden stepped up to replace Harris.

Abram dealt with shoulder injuries and displayed inconsistency through his first three seasons with the Raiders. Las Vegas ultimately waived the 2019 first-round pick midway through last season after he fell out of a starting role. Abram then appeared in seven games between the Packers and Seahawks to finish out the 2022 campaign. With the Saints, he'll likely need to prove himself either on special teams or in a reserve role behind starting safeties Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye.
Although he missed the final three games of the 2021 regular season due to shoulder surgery, Abram still finished second to only linebacker Denzel Perryman for the Raiders' team lead in tackles with 116 (64 solo) in 14 contests. However, the team elected to decline Abram's fifth-year option for 2023, so the 25-year-old safety still has more to prove as a new head coach and general manager arrive in Las Vegas this offseason.
Abram was a regrettable first-round pick by the Raiders and might not be a part of their long-term future, but he's their best option at safety in the meantime, and in IDP leagues he's quite useful. Abram's 86 tackles and two interceptions last year came on 855 snaps, so over 1,000 snaps he would project for triple-digit tackles. The Raiders defense is unlikely to be good anytime soon, so Abram likely will need to continue tackling ballcarriers in the secondary. Injuries are his main problem — Abram missed three games last year after a shoulder injury ended his rookie year.
Abram said in February he was about 90 percent recovered from the surgically-repaired torn rotator cuff he suffered in the Raiders' season opener, in which case he should be 100 percent healthy well in advance of Week 1. The 25th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, Abram made five tackles on his 49 snaps after totaling 99 tackles (9.0 TFL) in 13 games during his final season at Mississippi State. That implies triple-digit tackle upside in the NFL, and with 4.45 speed he has the range to stay involved sideline to sideline.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Week 15 uptick likely
SSeattle Seahawks
December 14, 2022
Head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday he would like to see Abram, who joined the Seahawks on Nov. 30, to be more involved on defense during Thursday's game against the 49ers, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Abram logged only four snaps on defense in his Seattle debut versus Carolina in Week 14. The 2019 first-round pick could be in store for some added opportunity Week 15 with starting strong safety Ryan Neal dealing with a knee injury and listed as questionable for the game.
