2024 Fantasy Outlook
A workhorse at Southern Miss with impeccable bloodlines, Gore went undrafted in 2024 and signed with the Bills. He may not escape the practice squad, however. Gore could be a goal-line option in the NFL due to his ability to grind out tough yards, but he lacks the speed and burst to profile as a lead back, and he'll also need to improve in pass protection to see third-down work despite some skill as a route-runner. Gore will compete with fellow rookie Ray Davis, as well as veterans Ty Johnson and Darrynton Evans, for backup snaps behind James Cook. Read Past Outlooks
Gets spot on practice squad
The Bills re-signed Gore (knee) to their practice squad Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gore dealt with a knee injury late in the preseason, but the undrafted rookie out of Southern Miss no longer has an injury designation. The clear top man in Buffalo's backfield is James Cook, with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson locked in for the top reserve spots. Darrynton Evans (hamstring) will also handle a depth role once back from injured reserve, so Gore lacks a clear path to activation from the practice squad, barring injuries. Still, he showed enough during the preseason to warrant a chance to continue his development.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to be drafted
Gore projects as a priority free agent but probably won't be drafted, according to the comprehensive 2024 NFL Draft Guide compiled by Dane Brugler of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Gore's father played in the NFL from 2005 to 2020 and is third on the all-time rushing list with 16,000 rushing yards. Gore Jr. is unlikely to come close to matching his father's accolades, but he's likely to draw some interest from NFL teams after rushing for 1,382 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022 and following it up with 1,131 rushing yards and 10 rushing scores in 2023 at Southern Miss. Having inherited his father's strong work ethic and demonstrated a versatile skill set that includes contributions in passing situations and on special teams, Gore Jr. could eventually carve out a meaningful NFL role of his own.
