2024 Fantasy Outlook
Reynolds has become a reliable depth option in the Lions' backfield. He scored his first career touchdown in Week 5 last year, but his role on offense evaporated after the team's bye as Jahmyr Gibbs began to assert himself and David Montgomery stayed healthy. That duo should dominate the snaps and touches for Detroit, but Reynolds' versatile skill set makes him the next man up if either main back breaks down, and he has some big-play potential of his own. Despite limited touches the last three years, Reynolds has six gains of 20-plus yards. Read Past Outlooks

Fails to log offensive snap
Reynolds did not log a snap on offense in Sunday's 26-20 overtime win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Reynolds is buried behind David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs on the running back depth chart and was limited to 18 special-teams snaps in Week 1. Rookie Sione Vaki was able to garner two snaps with the offense, but it's unclear whether Reynolds or Vaki can be considered Detroit's No. 3 running back at this moment. Barring an injury ahead of them, neither will hold much fantasy value.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2022
Unless Detroit re-signs Justin Jackson, it looks like Reynolds will get another crack at holding down the No. 3 spot on the running back depth chart. However, the modest promotion may be neutralized by the Lions' decision to spend significant resources to upgrade both RB1 and RB2 this offseason. Accordingly, Reynolds now finds himself behind a well-paid David Montgomery and first-round pick Jahmyr Gibbs. Given these investments - plus the likelihood that Montgomery and Gibbs are less injury-prone than the departed D'Andre Swift - Reynolds can't expect any more than the handful of carries he received when spelling Swift and Jamaal Williams over the past two years.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Running ahead of Vaki
Reynolds excelled as a pass catcher in training camp Friday, and he's ahead of 2024 fourth-round pick Sione Vaki in the competition for the third spot on Detroit's running back depth chart, according to Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net.
ANALYSIS
Reynolds worked with the first-team offense Friday while Jahmyr Gibbs rested with a soft-tissue injury, and Reynolds put on his best Gibbs impression with a pair of touchdown catches in red-zone drills. Vaki, meanwhile, showed some growing pains by running the wrong route on one red-zone rep. Reynolds has put himself in good position to make the 53-man roster, and his performance in training camp suggests h could be thrust into a prominent role working as the pass-catching complement to power runner David Montgomery if Gibbs were to miss any action in the regular season.
