Oscar Piastri

McLaren F1 Team
2023 Fantasy Outlook
The Australian rookie Piastri has quite the shoes to fill in his first season with Formula One, taking former McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo's spot as Lando Norris' teammate for the 2023 campaign. Piastri was quite the phenom in his last season with Formula 2 in 2021, winning a total of six times, earning 252 points, and walking away with the Driver's Championship after just 23 starts in the series. The driver of the No. 81 will have a lot of eyes on his on-track performance this year, as McLaren is famous for their incoming drivers having issues sufficiently adapting to the feeling and handling of the car. In the upcoming season, Piastri's greatest challenge will be learning how to adjust his racing style to fit the capabilities of the MCL36 and where he fits amongst all the new talent on the grid this season. Runner-up Finish in Budapest

August 3, 2025
Piastri finished second in the Hungarian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Hungaroring circuit on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The McLaren youngster started second on the grid and could not get past Charles Leclerc in the opening laps for the lead. Piastri would settle into P2 and elect for a two-stop pit strategy, in contrast to his teammate. Once he bolted on fresh tyres in the final third of the grand prix he would begin to track down the leaders. Piastri would get around Charles Leclerc and then set his sights on leader, Lando Norris. He would close hard on his teammate for the win but would come up just seven-tenths short at the checkered flag. It was PIastri's 12th podium of the season.
