Tommy Castellanos

2025 is undoubtedly a redemption season for Castellanos. He struggled and dealt with injuries last fall with Boston College and ultimately stepped away from the team in November, announcing his intentions to enter the portal. He's landed at Florida State for his senior season, where he'll look to help the Seminoles bounce back from a dreadful 2-10 finish last fall. Castellanos oozes talent as a dual-threat quarterback, though his running ability certainly flashes more than his passing. During the 2023 season, he racked up 1,113 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Last fall, he was utilized much less in that department with just 194 yards and one score. Now, however, he's reunited with new Florida State offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, whom he initially committed to out of high school at UCF. Malzahn should be able to help maximize his skillset, and the Seminoles have done well to surround him with receiving weapons, reeling in two productive transfer receivers (Duce Robinson from USC and Squirrel White from Tennessee). The tight end room also has plenty of receiving promise with sophomore Landen Thomas and UCF transfer Randy Pittman. If anyone can highlight the best abilities of a quarterback and hide their flaws, it's Malzahn. It wouldn't be surprising to see a resurgence for Castellanos in 2025, potentially aiming for a season closer to what Nick Marshall deployed in his time under center when Malzahn was at Auburn.
