2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ewers is a potential Heisman Trophy candidate, having set career-highs across the board as a sophomore for the Longhorns. Ewers completed 69.0 percent of his passes for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions. This included a virtuoso performance in the Big 12 Championship Game, throwing for 452 yards and four touchdowns in the 49-21 thrashing of Oklahoma State. He also more than held his own in the CFP Semifinal versus Washington, passing for over 300 yards in a losing cause. Ewers should continue to ascend in 2024, with two rather large caveats. Firstly, Texas moves to the SEC, meaning a tougher schedule and tougher opposing defenses. Secondly, there is also the looming presence of Arch Manning, whose name and pedigree will cast a shadow over the Texas program this season, especially if Ewers struggles or has a bad game. Ewers is the surefire starter heading into the 2024 campaign, but a lot can change in a short amount of time. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
All the stars are aligned for Ewers as Texas enters the season as the Big 12 preseason favorites and he’ll get to play with one the nation’s best offensive lines and receiving corps. Texas returns 10 starters on offense and is one of the most experienced teams in the nation. While it will not be easy to replace all-world running back Bijan Robinson by any means, they do have Keilan Robinson, Jaydon Blue, Jonathon Brooks and true freshman CJ Baxter who is the number one prospect at the position. It’s reasonable to say they will be fine at running back and it’s already been mentioned that the offensive line and receivers are top notch. Ewers has all the incentive to perform as he’s being backed up by five-star freshman Arch Manning and redshirt freshman Maalik Murphy. Ewers showed flashes in 2022, but never really looked the same after suffering a broken collarbone against Alabama. This will be his year to shine with everything set up around him.
