Set to return for fifth year
South Carolina tight ends coach Erik Kimrey said he believes Muse will return to the Gamecocks for the 2021 season, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports. "He's still working through some things...but I look forward to him coming back and being a great leader on this team. We need him," Kimrey said of Muse.
ANALYSIS
The senior suited up and started in all 10 of the Gamecocks' games in 2020, recording 30 receptions for 425 yards and a touchdown. Based on Kimrey's comments, Muse seems poised to take advantage of the NCAA granting all players blanket waivers for the 2020 season, which will allow the tight end to play out his fifth and final year of eligibility in 2021. Muse could still end up exploring transfer opportunities at other schools with South Carolina bringing in a new staff under first-year head coach Shane Beamer, but at this time, he's expected to stick with the Gamecocks.
