Washington threw for a career-high 459 yards and three scores on a day in which he threw for the most pass attempts by a Big Ten freshman since 2001. The 6-foot-5 freshman connected with receiver Jalil Farooq on scoring strikes of seven and 24 yards in the second and third quarters, respectively, to go along with a 25-yard touchdown toss to Shaleak Knotts in the third quarter, keeping pace with the Spartans in a game that went down to the wire. Washington finished the 2025 regular season with 2,963 yards and 17 touchdowns to nine interceptions through 12 games while adding 303 yards and four scores on the ground as well. With the Terrapins finishing at 4-8 on the year, he will have to wait until next year to make an impact in College Park, barring an entry into the NCAA transfer portal.
