Finally gets Rose Bowl win
Johnson caught five passes for 66 yards in the Rose Bowl against Wisconsin on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Johnson lead Oregon receivers on a day in which the offense struggled to move the ball against a tough Wisconsin defense, but the team was still able to gut out a win. Johnson returned to the Rose Bowl and finally got his win, after previously appearing for Penn State in their loss to USC in 2017. It took some time for the grad transfer to work his way into the Ducks offense, but once he did he proved to be vital to the team down the stretch. With his eligibility expired, Johnson will now attempt to take his game to the next level.

Johnson made the savvy move of transferring to Oregon at a time where the program is returning a future first-round pick at quarterback while also looking to replace its top receiver from 2018 in Dillon Mitchell. Oregon has talented pieces other than Johnson on the roster, including freshman Mycah Pittman, but Johnson (6-4, 230) has the size and experience to be an instant impact player on the outside and in the red zone. Players like Jaylon Redd and Johnny Johnson have been with the program long enough to establish that they are little more than role players. Everything is set up for Johnson to finally live up to the outsized expectations that have hovered over him since his days as a high school recruit.
