Tosses two TDs Saturday
Sims was 11-for-24 passing for 206 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 42-17 win versus Colorado. He also had eight rushes for 12 yards.
ANALYSIS
After two straight excellent performances, Sims came back down to earth in Saturday's win. Although he threw two touchdowns, he turned the ball over twice and completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes versus a struggling Colorado defense. Also, after rushing 46 times for 309 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games, he rushed for a measly 12 yards on eight carries versus the Buffaloes. He will look to bounce back Friday versus Arizona in the regular season finale.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Jeff Sims, a former four-star recruit, started all of the Jackets’ 10 games as a freshman and is poised to take a step forward in 2021. There were flashes of brilliance last season, and flashes of learning opportunities, as Sims completed 54.9 percent of his throws while tossing an equal 13 touchdowns and interceptions. The real appeal from Sims came from his dual threat ability, rushing 120 times for 492 yards and six scores, though it’s fair to question whether the Jackets want Sims to run more or less this season. They hit the transfer portal hard for offensive linemen, and have a very capable stable of running backs led by Jahmyr Gibbs and Jordan Mason, which could keep Sims in the pocket more, running only as necessary. Sims topped 250 yards only once last season, and while growth as a passer is expected, the Jackets are only in Year 2 of a non-option offense. There’s limited firepower out wide, and Sims may be a year away from a full breakout as a result.
