2024 Fantasy Outlook
Blue will likely play second fiddle to CJ Baxter in the Texas backfield in 2024, but there still should be plenty of carries to go around. Last year's starter, Jonathan Brooks, took his 1,139 yards and 10 touchdowns to the NFL, and while Baxter more than doubled Blue's touches, Blue generally looked more explosive than Baxer. Blue averaged a stout 6.1 yards per carry, while Baxter only managed 4.8 yards per tote. Baxter had five touchdowns compared to three for Blue, but as mentioned above, Baxter had more than double the amount of carries. All this being considered, there could effectively be a split between the top two running backs for Texas again this season, meaning that Blue should get over 100 carries and the chance to figure prominently in the Longhorn offense. It must be pointed out that Texas moves to the SEC this season, though, meaning a likely tougher slate of opposing defenses. Read Past Outlooks
Productive outing in win
Blue (undisclosed) posted 14 carries for 83 yards and caught all three targets for 19 yards during Saturday's 20-10 win over Arkansas.
ANALYSIS
Blue saw an uptick in his opportunities during this matchup as he finished with more than 10 carries for the first time since Week 4 (25). The junior running back will hope to have earned more opportunities for Saturday's home game against Kentucky.
