Goes down holding leg
Knee
December 30, 2021
Ferguson went down and appeared to be getting work done on his right knee early on in the third quarter Thursday against Arizona State, Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what exactly happened as Ferguson was merely just acting as a blocker on the play he was injured. The Badgers are already without their top two wideouts in Danny Davis (undisclosed) and Kendrick Pryor (undisclosed) due to injury. Ferguson was able to limp off to the sideline under his own power and is trying to loosen up on the stationary bike. His return to Thursday's action is questionable.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020
2019
While Ferguson’s sophomore season was fine, it clearly wasn’t the leap he was hoping for, and his 33 grabs for 407 yards and two touchdowns actually represented a statistical step back from his freshman numbers. With Jack Coan slated to return under center -- assuming he doesn’t get unseated by Graham Mertz -- Ferguson will have another offseason to develop a connection with his signal-caller. Ferguson’s missing target share (down from 55 targets to 43 last season) went to Quintez Cephus, who opted to turn pro following 2019. With Cephus gone, move the junior tight end toward the top of the heap for targets again in 2020 and could position him for a breakout season and potentially a look at leaving early for the NFL himself.
Wisconsin always skews toward the run, and with good reason. But when the Badgers go to the air, tight ends are often involved, and Ferguson is more than just a safety valve. He was second on the team in receptions (36), receiving yards (456) and touchdowns (4) while averaging a strong 8.5 YPT, which ranked 11th among tight ends with at least 50 targets. Wisconsin’s other top pass catchers will be back this year as well, but it’s clear that Ferguson will be a staple in this passing game once again in 2019.
