Bounce-back performance
Bachmeier was 20-for-30 passing for 245 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 27-24 win against Stanford. He also had 11 rushes for 11 yards.
ANALYSIS
Bachmeier needed a performance like this, a relatively clean outing (save for the one interception) on efficient passing numbers (66.7 percent completion). The quarterback has now led Wake Forest to back-to-back victories, and while one of them came against UConn, it has to be cathartic for a Demon Deacons team that's struggled mightily this season. Bachmeier will look to keep it up against California after a bye week.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Bachmeier became the starter for the Broncos in 2021, and posted a solid season with 3,079 yards passing, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions. After battling a knee injury late last season, Bachmeier underwent surgery in the offseason but was able to participate in spring practice, without contact. However, he played in the spring game, and most programs don’t subject their quarterbacks to contact in spring ball anyway. All signs point to Bachmeier returning to full strength when the fall rolls around, and when it does, he’ll have to break in some new skill position talent. Dominant receiver Kahlil Shakir is off to the NFL, and Octavius Evans is also gone. Those two alone accounted for 111 catches, 1,526 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Stephan Cobbs returns at wideout, as does leading rusher George Holani, but Bachmeier will have to find a new go-to option in Boise State’s pass-heavy offense.
