Stepping away from football
McCall (concussion) has decided to retire from football due to injury, R. Cory Smith of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McCall suffered a head injury against Wake Forest and stated this is an injury "he cannot come back from." After speaking with brain specialists, it was recommended the 6-foot-3 signal-caller called it a career. The senior quarterback played four collegiate seasons, completing 587 of 842 passes for 8,010 yards, 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions across 33 appearances. In his absence, C.J. Bailey should continue to see work under center.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
McCall produced fairly good fantasy production the last two years despite Coastal Carolina's low-tempo (63.95 plays per game in 2021), run-heavy offense, and he heads into his third starting season already well accomplished. There are new concerns in 2022, however. McCall is without his three top pass catchers (Jaivon Heiligh, Isaiah Likely and Kameron Brown), and he'll be working his way back from a shoulder injury that required surgical repair. McCall is expected to be fine for the start of the season and otherwise expects to resume his throwing program no later than June.
