Not in uniform Saturday
Undisclosed
November 26, 2016
Engram (undisclosed) is not in uniform and will likely not play Saturday against Mississippi State, Brian Rippee of the Daily Mississippian reports.
ANALYSIS
Engram's likely absence would be a major blow to Mississippi's passing attack for Saturday's Egg Bowl. The talented tight end ranks second in the SEC in receiving yards with 926. Provided that he does miss Saturday's game, the Rebels will lean on receivers Damore'ea Stringfellow, Van Jefferson, and Quincy Adeboyejo on the outside.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2016
2014
Tight ends generally don’t receive a ton of buzz at the college level, but Engram is one of the rare exceptions that not only gets hype but lives up to it. He finished just fifth on the team in receiving yards a season ago, but that belies the fact that he was tied for second on the team in receptions (38) and had the best catch rate of any Rebel with 50 or more targets at 69.1%. In watching Engram, he doesn’t play like the prototypical tight end as much as a smooth pass catching threat. He is quick and shifty, and his burst when he finds open space is uncommon for a player at 6-3, 227. Now that Laquon Treadwell and Cody Core’s combined 179 targets need to be redistributed among Rebel pass catchers, Engram should be in line for an even better season in 2016. Engram won’t see the same volume as the Rebel receivers such as Damore’ea Stringfellow or Quincy Adeboyejo, but he will be a featured part of the SEC’s most explosive offense.
Engram will probably be a bit under the radar after missing five games last year with an ankle injury, but there's major breakout potential here. The pass-catching tight end was off to an encouraging start as a freshman last year prior to the injury, posting 18 catches for 237 yards and three scores in the first six games of his career. With wideouts Donte Moncrief and Ja-Mes Logan no longer at Mississippi, Engram should be more prominent in the offense this year, along with receivers LaQuon Treadwell and Vince Sanders.
