2023 Fantasy Outlook
After a roller coaster of a 2022 season, Eli Pancol will look to establish himself as a go-to big receiver in Duke’s budding offense. Pancol gashed Northwestern for 106 yards on just two catches in the Blue Devils second game of the season but had just 192 yards over the rest of the season while missing four games due to injury. That afforded Jordan Moore an opportunity to emerge as the second option behind Jalen Calhoun. All three return for 2023, and while QB Riley Leonard is also back, he’s more of a fantasy option thanks to dual threat capabilities than a pure gunslinger. Can Leonard be good enough to create multiple fantasy viable receivers in Durham? The one thing Pancol has going for him is his size at 6-foot-3, with both Moore and Calhoun being three or four inches shorter. But that hasn’t led to him being a red zone threat, as he has just five career touchdowns with none in 2022. Duke’s offensive continuity likely leaves Pancol on the outside looking in for a larger role, setting him up as a reasonable option in ACC heavy leagues, but not someone worth considering late in deeper national pools.
